Hi,

As you may know I am a Volunteer at The Luton Hoo Walled Garden Restoration Project. I heard Anne Law talk about her area of the Project, namely collecting information via talks with people who had a connection with The Estate or know somebody who worked and or lived on The Estate. 

Anne Law is a volunteer at the Luton Hoo Walled Garden Restoration Project and she has spent the past five years gathering information about what went on in the Gardens, Estate or House to help build a historical record of events etc. anytime to the present day. Anne and her fellow researchers have interviewed a fair number of those who worked on or lived on The Hoo Estate with their parents as well as people whose relations worked there. Anne hopes there are still more living in and around Luton and on the Estate farms who might have valuable details they would be willing to share. She collects the information by personal interviews which she records either in note form or as recorded testimonies depending on which method the interviewee would prefer. 

She also wishes to chat to anyone who worked in the House for however long or no matter how menial an occupation because they can also be a source of information that helps build the picture of what life was like. They can often provide useful facts about people who worked on The Estate or provide contact details of others who might like to share their memories about their connection with Anne. 

So far Anne and her team have interviewed known contacts. Now Anne would like to broaden her area of contact by meeting people in the surrounding villages such as Slip End who however tenuously were involved with Luton Hoo.
