Peter Segal EMAIL Peter is 57 years old, and has lived in Stopsley in Luton for over 35 years. He is married with two grown up daughters. For the past 40 years, Peter has worked in various roles in the Brewing Industry, retiring in late January 2010. He says "I hope that in my new role of Parish Clerk I can bring my experience in marketing, office management and sales to the Parish to help you achieve your goals, and combat the threat of the potential destruction of Village life and the Green Belt in general". Peter is also administrator for the Slip End Playing Fields and he is working with the Parish Plan Group. |

Paul Cooper - Vice Chairman
46 Front Street Paul has lived in Slip End all his life and joined the Parish Council in December 2008. Paul gained his degree in Sheffield and then worked for several pub companies. After 3 years as a consultant in the licensed retail industry, he took over the lease of the Frog & Rhubarb in 1999 and has revitalised the pub to be the hub of the community. He is a Fellow of the British Institute of Innkeeping and has recently achieved an Advanced Certificate in Licensed Hospitality. He is currently Chair of the Community Projects Group and will be involved with many community groups and events over the coming months. He is also Vice Chairman of the Parish Council. Janet Crawley
4 Front Street Janet has lived in the parish for more than 11 years and is married to Steve. Besides her busy work life as catering manager Janet is heavily involved with the Parish Council, the Community Projects Group and last year succeeded in getting the Youth Club off the ground. Janet says 'I just love working in the community with all the great people I meet within the village. There are some talented and skilled people we have in the village, including our youngsters. Ken Crossett - Chairman EMAIL
19 Crawley Close Ken has lived in Slip End since 1986, he says that it was the rural location and Village atmosphere which first attracted him. He quickly settled with his wife and children and has taken an active part in St Andrews Church ever since. Ken retired early from his career in Banking in 2003 and joined the Parish Council shortly afterwards. He says “I have been very fortunate to be able to live in the Parish and have seen and heard of the work residents have done in the past to make it such a great place to live. I joined the Parish Council to see if I could put something back into the community’ |

Steve Fuell EMAIL 1 Crawley Close Steve joined the then joint Parish Council of Caddington and Slip End shortly after moving into the village in 1988. Since retiring after 35 years in banking he has been very active in many aspects of Council work particularly regarding traffic calming, Highway issues and the youth shelter. He has also spent many years on the Management Committees of the Village Hall and Playing Fields, having introduced CCTV facilities at both venues. When not busy with council work he is involved in the walled garden restoration project at Luton Hoo as well as looking after his own garden and allotment. He and his wife enjoy several weeks travel each year and they both are regular visitors to the gym. Keith Holme EMAIL 37 Brickhill Farm Park Homes Keith moved into Pepperstock 17 years ago at the time of his first retirement, having completed 35 years working for one of the largest aluminium producers, then running his own import business for the aircraft industry and finally having two pubs in the West Country. An approach from Fantastic Fireworks resulted in him producing outdoor classical music concerts. He now works as a consultant to a sports development company. He was a Parish Councillor in a Berkshire village some years ago and is Secretary to BADRA, the Residents Association in Pepperstock. He has been married to Jan for 20 years. Keith joined the Parish Council in November 2010. |

Sarah Minnighan EMAIL 12 St Andrews Close Sarah was born in Cambridge and moved to the parish when she was 18 months old. Sarah attended both Willowfield Lower School and Five Oaks Middle School as they were then known before attending Queensbury Upper School in Dunstable. Sarah has lived in the parish for 28 years and is involved with the organising of Village Day with her fellow councillor Janet, and with the Community Projects Group. Central Bedfordshire Unitary Councillor Ruth Gammons
Ruth became a councillor on South Bedfordshire Distrit Council in 2002, representing Caddington, Hyde & Slip End, after serving on Caddington Parish Council for the previous three years. Ruth was re-elected in 2009 when Central Bedfordshire Unitary Council was established and the ward increased to include Kensworth, and then re-elected in May 2011 to serve a further 4 year term on Central Bedfordshire Council. She has lived in the area for over 32 years and as a member of the Caddington Safety Forum raised around £60,000 for a Multi Use Games Area and BMX track for the young people of Caddington and the surrounding villages. Richard Stay – Executive Member, Central Bedfordshire Council
Richard was first elected as a Bedfordshire County Councillor to represent the Parishes of Caddington, Hyde & Slip End in 1997, with Kensworth Parish being added in 2005 to form the South East Bedfordshire Division. Abolition of the County Council through local government re-organisation meant the creation of the new all purpose Central Bedfordshire Council in 2009. Richard has represented Slip End continuously since 1997 and also fought the Luton South Parliamentary seat in 2005. He was the Deputy Leader of the County Council until March 2009 when he was appointed Deputy Leader of Central Bedfordshire - following the election in 2011 he became a Member of the Executive. The new Caddington Ward now includes 6 Parishes – Caddington, Hyde, Kensworth, Slip End, Studham & Whipsnade.
