Message Hi, I now work as the activity person in Woodside Care Home. We have 14 residents, some have dementia and most are over 90 years old. Some are residents of Slip End some have visitors some don’t. If there is anyone that could spare an hour to come and chat to some of them it would help brighten their day, let me know you may enjoy it. Janet

Does anyone in the village have the same frustrating problem with BT Broadband (especially around 4pm!). If so, Google BT Infinity and register your interest. If possible, do it for every member in your household and more than once! I have just spent 2 frustrating hours speaking to BT complaining about the service. Apparently the Government has told BT that they must offer Infinity to all customers and not just ones who are in a better area. If we get at least 1500 people from the Slip End area to register an interest or complain about the service, they are obliged to investigate. Please register your interest with BT or submit a complaint. Thank you. http://www.productsandservices.bt.com/consumerProducts/displayTopic.do?t...

No more hic ups ! :-)
Keep up the good work
Stumbled across this site whilst looking for old pics of the primary school. Lived in Church St from 1959 to 1974. Lots of familiar names! I remember Mr Ealing, the Headmaster, PC Teale who kept us all in check and drank lots of tea!! playing Tally-ho around the block as Slip End was just four streets then! Such simpler times!

I enjoyed seeing your website. I come from a small town here in the South [Bedford, Virginia, USA]. I have been to the Frog and look forward to again when am over for THE wedding end of April.
My friend who lives there, but works in Harpenden, says I know more about SlipEnd[which I call 'Slippery End'] than she.
Thank you, Britain, for being a force for good in this world, especially of late.

I HAVE THOROUGHLY ENJOYED YOUR WEBPAGE. A LITTLE INSIGHT INTO MY PAST LIFE. I LIVED IN THE CARAVAN PARK IN THE YEAR 1957//58. I WAS FRIENDS WITH A GIRL CALLED SUSAN LITTLE AND DOREEN BATES. DOREEN'S MOTHER IRONICALLY CAME FROM OUR HOMETOWN IN SCOTLAND, NAMELY ALVA, BUT WAS A COMPLETE SURPRISE TO MY MOTHER THE DAY WE MOVED INTO THE VILLAGE. I SCHOOLED AT ROTHERHAM HIGH IN FARLEY ROAD, LUTON. I RECOGNISE THE MAIN STREET AND IF I AM EVER IN THE AREA, WILL HAVE A LITTLE VISIT.
