As Christians we recognise that our western lifestyle is unsustainable and we need to change. We are called by God to be good stewards of the earth\u2019s resources, and Justice requires that we seek to redress the inequalities in access to good food, clean water, and sustainable fuel.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201c<em>What does the Lord require of you? The aim of the award is to celebrate the ways in which we engage with caring for the earth as a key part of our Christian faith. It covers worship and teaching; management of our building and the churchyard; community and global engagement; and lifestyle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We are constantly looking for ways to shrink our carbon footprint. We recycle, compost, carry out litter picks and enjoy outdoor worship from time to time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignright size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/www.slipend.co.uk\/st-andrews\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/Flowers.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1462\" width=\"277\" height=\"277\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.slipend.co.uk\/st-andrews\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/Flowers.jpg 700w, http:\/\/www.slipend.co.uk\/st-andrews\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/Flowers-300x300.jpg 300w, http:\/\/www.slipend.co.uk\/st-andrews\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/Flowers-150x150.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 277px) 100vw, 277px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>In the churchyard, there are bird boxes, log piles and conservation areas to promote particular wild flower species. Laminated identification sheets for the most common flowers are available in the church porch..<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201c<em>Look how the wild flowers grow: they do not work or make clothes for themselves. But I tell you that not even King Solomon with all his wealth had clothes as beautiful as one of these flowers. So I tell you\u2026 do not worry.
