What Would You Do If...?

The Bedfordshire and Luton Resilience Forum - The Bedfordshire and Luton Local Resilience Forum (BLLRF) has a simple vision: to make Bedfordshire and Luton the best prepared place for an emergency.

The BLLRF comprises members from the following organisations: Armed Forces East, Bedford Borough Council, Health Protection Agency, Bedfordshire and Luton Fire and Rescue Services, Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire Police, Central Bedfordshire Council, East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust, Environment Agency, Government Office for the East of England, London Luton Airport, Luton and Dunstable Hospital NHS, Luton Borough Council and NHS Bedfordshire.

BLLRF launched its ‘What would you do if?’ campaign to encourage you to think about WHAT would you do if..? your home or office got flooded, if you were stuck in a long traffic jam on one of the county’s motorways or there was an outbreak of influenza in your local area? There are of course quite a few other emergency situations you may find yourself in but this is just a few. The ‘What would you do if’ campaign is featured online and has been created to help you get the important information you need and to prepare in advance for emergency situations so you don’t get caught out when they happen.

The campaign aims to help everybody living or working within Bedfordshire and Luton to get prepared and feel confident in the level of service they will receive during an emergency.

For more information visit What Would You Do If which is packed full of useful information such as the types of emergencies you are most at risk from and advice on how to minimise the risk, to yourself, your family and your business. You can also find details of the Bedfordshire and Luton Local Resilience Forum (BLLRF)

Downloading the ‘What would you do if..?’ postcard is a good way to begin your emergency planning. The card contains information on preparing for an emergency and what to do should one occur. The postcard provides a contact detail box that can be personalised, and the size of the postcard means it can easily be displayed for the whole family to see.

If you happen to come across one of the postcards we have distributed around the county at key Tourist attractions, and you have a Smartphone, you can also access the website by downloading a QR code that is printed on the post card. Once into the website you can then bookmark it on your phone web browser so you always have it to hand, wherever you are.

There is also a ‘What would you do if..?’ emergency kit.
Residents can receive updates and also share their own emergency planning advice on Twitter and Facebook
