• Burglary Dwelling- Attempt burglary on Summer Street on the 12th. Offender tried to gain entry by front door and has caused damage believed to be frightened of by the dog.
• Vehicle Offences- aggravated vehicle taking on Half Moon Lane Pepperstock- vehicle stopped by police after making off at speed, the driver wasn’t the registered keeper or insured on the vehicle and arrested for the offences.
• Theft of Motor Vehicle- Grove Road Slip End vehicle failed to be returned to a hire company
• Church Road - Abandoned vehicle at location- no offences revealed not a police matter.
• Markyate Road - Motorbikes being ridden around field at location – officer attended no trace of bikes when arrived.
• Summer Street - Vehicle blocking footpath- owner of vehicle contacted and removed from location.
• St Andrews Close - report came in as youths running off after trying to break in location. Officers attended location couldn’t find the youths but turns out nuisance youths (ASB) rather than an attempt break in.

1) Entry gained by offenders through breaking through UPVC panel at the bottom of the rear door of location. A second wooden door has then being jemmied open and a tidy search of location was conducted.
2) Side entry was tried, jemmy marks left. Access is then gained through back Conservatory where a search was conducted. Neighbours heard someone inside and called the police as they knew home owners were out. No offenders caught.
3) Attempted break at location through front UPVC door, jemmy marks were left.

Violence Against a Person
24.06.2014 – This was not reported till the 01.07.2014. The offender has parked his vehicle across the IP’s driveway, when he the offender has been confronted regarding his parking and the obstruction he has become abusive and threating towards the victim.

Domestic Burglary
There is one report of an attempt burglary Dwelling Between 20.07.2014 1345 and 21.07.2014 1807 the IP has noticed screwdriver marks on the front door frame.

Burglary Other
Location of offence is the IP’s company in Pepperstock. Between the IP leaving at 1630hrs 17.07.2014 and returning at 0830hrs 18.07.2014 they have noticed a laptop from the desk removed without the cable which was left across the desk. All members of staff at the location have been accounted for and within the time the items has been stolen 5 unknown members of the public have walked past and not returned so assumed they have left via another door which is not normally used as an exit point.

Vehicle Crime
01.04.12 1200 – 03.07.2014 1200 - IP has left his vehicle in a storage location for a few years, when he has returned to the vehicle he has noticed that odd parts were missing from the internal/external areas of the vehicle.

19.07.2014 1200 – 21.07.2014 0900 - location of offence is a secure compound outside of a vehicle garage in the town of slip end. Between stated times and dates, unknown offender(s) have gained entry to the compound area and have used a lifting tool to raise a van and remove all of its wheels (not including the spare), the glass to the passenger side window has been smashed and access gained to the bonnet where leds were cut and the battery and plastic cover have been removed.

24.07.2014 2000 – 25.07.2014 1030 - between stated times and dates unknown offender has approached IP's car and carefully removed both white wing mirror covers and then left in an unknown direction

04.07.2014 0500 – 06.07.2014 1530 - between stated times and dates unknown offender has used an unknown implement to force open the driver’s side door. access has been gained to the vehicle however nothing has been stolen as there was nothing in the vehicle to be stolen

05.07.2014 0900 – 05.07.2014 1200 - the location of offence is a shop to a paintballing centre. The IP was at work in the shop and left her bag by an open window. Unknown offender has stolen the bag, which contained her mobile phone. offender/s have made off in an unknown direction by unknown means

14.07.2014 2030 - between stated dates and times, four males have been at the pub sitting in the garden. They have ordered food and drinks to the value of £60.05 at the end of the evening two males have left and made no attempt to pay for their food

Anti-Social Behaviour Incidents – 3 (1 x Noise Complaint, 1 x Abandon vehicle, 1 x Nuisance Youths)

• Violence against a person has stayed the same from last year’s figures which is involving a neighbour dispute and the offender is known.

• June figures show a large increase in Burglaries. One burglary the offenders have gained access to the rear of the property and have taken jewellery from the location, offenders have gained access by smashing the rear patio and have taken various items and the occupants car, occupants have possibly dropped their keys offenders have gain entry to the property taken various items as well their car, the last one was an attempted where the offenders have attempted to gain access via the front door. We are continuing targeted patrols in the area, and raise awareness within the community. We urge the community to remain vigilant and to report any suspicious persons or activity on non-emergency 101 or emergency 999 numbers

• There has been a rise in Burglary Other as well. This relates to offenders climbing the fence to a car compound and taking red diesel from the premises, offenders have broken into a farm and taken two off road motorbike as well as various other items, offenders have gained entry to an insecure compound conducted a messy search but it is believed nothing was taken, the finally one was an attempt to a mobile caravan no entry was gained.

• Vehicle crime is same as last year where sunglasses have been taken, another vehicle had the front and rear towing eye removed and the third have had fuel syphoned from the vehicle. This is shown throughout central Bedfordshire on most occasions valuables especially sat navs are left on display, we are also experiencing thefts of car parts, bumpers, wing mirror casing etc.

There has been a decrease in criminal damages from three to one, this is in relation to two vehicle on a farm being damaged where a gas cylinder has smashed the windscreen and a telegraph pole has been put through the rear window.

May figures show a large increase in Burglaries. Two burglaries where committed on the same day and entry was gained from the side of the property, The was another burglary where method of entry is unknown and large amounts of money was taken, the fourth burglary entry was gained through and open downstairs window jewellery and money was taken. We are continuing targeted patrols in the area, and raise awareness within the community. We urge the community to remain vigilant and to report any suspicious persons or activity on non-emergency 101 or emergency 999 numbers

* There has been one Burglary other. This relates to a commercial garage where offenders have gained entry to a caravan.

* Vehicle crime is up from the same period last year where there have been two vehicles which have had their fuel syphoned, there has been a theft of a motor vehicle, another car has had their sat nav and computer taken and another had money taken from the centre console. This is shown throughout central Bedfordshire on most occasions valuables especially sat navs are left on display, we are also experiencing thefts of car parts, bumpers, wing mirror casing etc.

* There is also a rise in theft other. Entry was gained to a vehicle and damage was caused but nothing taken. Offenders have gained entry to a compound where they have taken brushes and hose pipes to attempt to syphon fuel but were unsuccessful. Two bikes have been stolen from the rear of the property. A battery has been stolen from a police ANPR camera.

* There has been a rise in Burglary other. There were two confirmed breaks into the farm yards where the offenders have caused a large amount of damage getting into the grounds and have taken a large amount of power tools. There is one attempted.

* Vehicle crime is up from the same period last year where a number plate has been stolen, a mobile phone has been stolen from the dashboard and the third one has had the wheel stolen. This is shown throughout central Bedfordshire on most occasions valuables especially sat navs are left on display, we are also experiencing thefts of car parts, bumpers, wing mirror casing etc.

* There is also a rise in theft other by one and this is related to an offender breaking into the car garage and steeling car batteries, this has been witness by an off duty officer and the offender has been arrested.

There has been a general increase in House Burglaries across the county recently mainly in the daytime. Houses are being targeted for high value jewellery and electronics. Home owners are being advised to take pictures and serial numbers of jewellery and electronics in the event of them being stolen, this allows the Police to trace stolen items and have these items returned to owners and convict criminals found in possession of these items.
